Question 16: In a square flower garden, people build a square aquarium in the middle of the flower garden. The side of the landscaped pool is parallel to the flower garden edge and equidistant from the flower garden edge 15m. The remaining land area is 1500 m2. Calculate the area of land to grow flowers?

The area of each rectangle is ;

1500 : 4 = 375 (m2)

The length of each rectangle is :

375 : 15 = 25 (m2)

Next to the flower garden are:

25 + 15 = 40 (m)

The area of the flower garden is:

40 x 40 = 1600 (m2)
